It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Animated Pixar Parody

One of my favorite projects thus far in my animation career has been a short segment I worked on for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. A crew of a couple dozen of us at Floyd County Productions made it and it's got lots of Pixar homages sprinkled throughout. It aired a little while ago in an episode called "The Gang Saves the Day".  You can find it online (at least for now) at this link.

We also made a behind the scenes video which you can see here.

  1. It's awesome that you were the ones behind the animation! I have been marathoning Season 8 and 9, came across the segment you worked on and had to know more because of how funny and sweet it was. Obviously Ratatouille and Up were the main influences, but how many Pixar homages did your animation team sneak in there and how many were scripted by the crew/writers at Sunny?

    1. I'm glad you liked it! All of us that worked on it are very proud of the work we did. To answer your questions, yeah, you nailed it, Ratatouille and Up were the primary influences. I don't think anyone snuck in any "A113" references or anything (we're east-coasters so none of us are Cal Arts kids). As for where the ideas came from, the Sunny guys wrote the script, so all credit goes to them. We made the visuals so the "acting choices" and stuff like that were made by the animators, story boarders, and directors. The Sunny folks were wonderful to work with, by the way. Honestly some of my favorite people ever to work with on a project like this.
